A Birthday They'll Never Forget!

Our birthday parties are 2 hours long and include 90 minutes of instructor-led climbing in our Alcove Climbing Area. This dedicated space is separated from the rest of the crag and includes a wide range of top rope and auto-belay walls, allowing your group to stay together while enjoying a fun and exciting climbing experience.

During the climbing session, participants can:

• Get belayed by our staff on over 15 top rope and auto-belay climbs in the party area.
• Boulder on the Matterhown wall, then slide down the slide
• Enjoy our outdoor boulder and area for lawn games and slacklining during nice weather

Whether they're first-time climbers or experienced adventurers, our goal is for every child to have an unforgettable experience.

Dedicated Climbing Guides

Every party includes two or more ÜG Climbing Guides (depending on your group size) to ensure a fun and engaging experience.

Our staff will:

• Properly fit every climber with a climbing harness
• Provide a safety orientation before climbing
• Belay participants on top rope routes
• Supervise all auto-belay climbing
• Lead fun climbing games and activities throughout the event

Parents can relax knowing our experienced staff is taking care of the climbing while the kids focus on having fun.

Private Party Room: Your own private event space

Your reservation includes exclusive use of our private party room throughout your event, plus 15 minutes before your party begins for setup and decorating.

You're welcome to bring:

• Birthday cake
• Snacks and drinks
• Pizza or catering from your favorite restaurant (limit drop off to 30 minutes or less from the scheduled start of the event)

To help keep the climbing areas clean, we ask that all food and beverages remain in the party room.

Your party room includes:

• Tables and chairs
• Refrigerator & Freezer access

Standard party setup:

• Cloth tablecloths
• Placemats, paper plates, plasticware, & cups

You're also welcome to bring your own decorations to personalize the celebration.

Party Pricing

Up to 12 Participants: $495

Additional Participants: $35/climber

Member Discount: Current active ÜG Members that host a birthday party receive a $25 discount on the base party rate. To receive member pricing, either the party host must have an active Übergrippen membership at the time of booking.

Final Guest Count

• Not sure exactly how many guests will attend? No problem!
• Reserve your party for the minimum of 12 participants and add additional climbers later if needed. 
• Any remaining balance for additional participants will be charged after your party based on the final climber count.

Arrival & Departure

Parking

Parking is permitted in our parking lot or on surrounding streets.  DO NOT PARK in our neighboring business' parking lots - those lots are for their exclusive use only.

Arrival & Check-In

Please plan for you and your guests to arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled party time. This allows enough time for everyone to:

• Check in
• Verify that all required waivers have been completed
• Be properly fitted with a climbing harness
• Begin climbing on time

Waivers

To help your party start smoothly, we strongly encourage all participants and spectators (this includes infants, parents, & grandparents) to complete their waiver before arriving.

Parents or guardians who have not completed a waiver before arrival will need to do so at one of our waiver stations before entering the facility.

What to Wear

For the best climbing experience, participants should wear:

• Athletic shoes with closed toes
• Comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement

For safety reasons, sandals, flip-flops, open-toed shoes, Crocs, and similar footwear are not permitted while climbing. Climbing shoes can be rented for an additional cost. 

Pick-Up

Please have children's parents prepared to pick up kids by the scheduled end of the party.

Climbing Shoes

If your kids would like to use climbing shoes, we are happy to rent those to each child as well. Our party participants can rent shoes for $6/pair if they wish.  However, for most kids that don't have extensive climbing experience, climbing in athletic shoes is sufficient and requires less time to get the kids started and climbing. You can decide this on the day of the party.

The Fine Print

Waivers

All party participants (including infants, parents, and grandparents) must have a release of liability on file that is signed by each child's Parent or Legal Guardian (no exceptions). Please have parents complete the release (https://ugclimbing.com/castle-rock-waiver) before the party to ensure kids get the most time climbing possible.

• No one other than a child's parent or Legal Guardian can sign a release of liability for a child. 
• Children that do not have a release signed by a parent or legal guardian will not be permitted to participate in the climbing. 
• Please plan ahead and have all parents complete their child's release prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy

• More than 30 days before your event: $50 cancellation fee
• 15–30 days before your event: $100 cancellation fee
• 7–14 days before your event: 50% refund
• Less than 7 days before your event: No refunds
