ÜberClippin Lead Climbing Class

Are you a 5.10 climber who is ready to step into the world of indoor lead climbing? Our ÜberClippin Lead course is designed to teach you how to clip, and how to whip!

This course is taught over 2 days (3 hours each). Classes are typically one week apart. Our CWA Certified Climbing Wall Instructors will lead you through the curriculum in a comfortable, controlled atmosphere. At the end of two days we hope you are confidently able to both lead climb and lead belay inside. We will teach proper clipping technique, rope management skills, communication, belaying technique (giving and taking slack), and provide some info and demos of some of the latest gear used in lead climbing! After you complete the course you will still be required to pass our lead climbing test on your next visit before being certified to lead climb at Übergrippen.

The price of this course includes the price of a day pass. For the class we will provide a lead climbing rope, but you should have your own harness and belay device.

6 hours of group instruction (over 2 days).
Entry to the crag on the days of the class.
Lead climbing ropes for use during the class.

25% discount on a gym cut (30meter and 40 meter) lead rope if purchased within 14 days of completion of the class.

1 Free Day Pass for yourself (non-transferable) that is valid for the 14 days following the completion of the class (to allow you to return and take the lead climbing certification test).

Demonstrated ability to ONSIGHT (first try, no falls or rests) a 5.10- climb on top rope.
Demonstrated belay technique using the PBUS method.
Participants must be 15 years of age or older to take the lead climbing class.

Non-Members: $110 (includes day passes for both days of class)

Cancellation Policy:

8+ days notice: Full refund (you are welcome to transfer credit for another class if you prefer)
3-7 days notice: No refund, but you may receive a credit or reschedule your class.
Less than 72 hours notice: No refund or credit will be offered.

Inclement Weather Advisory:

Our facilities never close unless our staff cannot get to the facility to open the building. Please plan on attending any class that you sign up for unless you are notified via email and/or social media that the class has been cancelled or the facility has closed for the day.
