Lead Climbing Class
Ready to take your climbing to the next level?
If you're a confident 5.10 climber and ready to step into the world of indoor lead climbing, this class is for you! You'll learn how to clip—and how to whip—in a controlled and supportive environment.
This course is taught over two 3-hour sessions, typically scheduled one week apart. Our Certified Climbing Wall Instructors will guide you through every aspect of lead climbing and lead belaying using a structured curriculum and plenty of hands-on practice.
By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and confidence to:
- Clip efficiently and correctly
- Manage the rope while leading
- Give and take slack smoothly while lead belaying
- Communicate effectively with your climbing partner
- Catch lead falls using proper belay technique
- Understand current lead climbing equipment and best practices for managing risk
Upon completing the course, you'll be prepared to take Übergrippen's Lead Certification Test. Before being approved to lead climb in our facility, you'll need to successfully pass this practical skills assessment on your next visit.
