Make-up Policy:
There are no make-up classes available. If your climber misses a session, please email youth@ugclimbing.com to receive a complimentary day pass with gear rental included. This pass can be used on any day that the McAuliffe Climbing Club is not practicing.
This program is for children who are students at McAuliffe International School.
Required Documents:
- Release of Liability: Climbing is Dangerous! All spectators & participants must have a signed Release of Liability on file prior to entering the facility. Participants under 18 years old must have their release signed by their PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN ONLY. No substitutes of the parent signature on the release are accepted. The release is available online at www.ugclimbing.com/release
- Youth Top Rope Belay Certification Agreement: As part of the McAuliffe Climbing Club, your climber will be taught how to belay. Youth climbers at ÜG are required to take and pass three belay tests on three separate days and have a signed Youth Top Rope Belay & Certification Agreement on file to complete their belay certification. - Bouldering Policy Certification and Agreement: As part of the McAuliffe Climbing Club, your climber will be bouldering. Bouldering is climbing any wall up to 15ft in height without the support of a climbing rope or belayer, with the possibility of a ground fall onto a padded surface. Includes:
- Entry to Übergrippen during the scheduled climbing club practice time.
- 2 hrs per week of coaching by two of your amazing teachers and one amazing parent volunteer!
- Rental gear is provided during practice times.

Terms and Conditions
(1) Climbing is Dangerous. All participants are required to complete and agree to the Visitor Agreement (www.ugclimbing.com/release) prior to entry into the facility and/or participation in any activies. For minors under 18 years of age, the waiver must be completed by their PARENT OR COURT APPOINTED LEGAL GUARDIAN only (sorry, no grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, simplings, pet dogs, goldfish, etc. are authorized to sign a legal release for a child that is not legally their own). Participants that are not willing to sign the Visitor Agreement will be prohibited from entry into the facility and will not be issued a refund.
(2) All sales are final. No refunds (full or partial) are provided.
(3) Code of Conduct: All Middle School athletes and coaches must abide by all Übergrippen rules, policies, and staff direction. Athletes and coaches will demonstrate our values of respect, inclusivity, positivity, and encouragement always. All athletes and coaches will always use best practices for safe climbing including DETAILED BUDDY CHECKS before each climb, proper belay technique with constant control of the brake strand of the rope, auto-belay safety checks, and best practices when bouldering. Horseplay, unsafe practices, or rude/disrespectful behavior are prohibited. Failure to follow this standard will result in athletes being removed from that day's practice or competition; repeated offenses will result in more severe disciplinary action including temporary or permanent suspension with no refunds.
