This is a Performance Climbing camp specifically designed for climbers, ages 10-18 who are currently climbing team athletes, current climbing club paticipants, or climbers who climb at least 1x per week with their family. All participants should be planning on participating in our Fall TeamGrippen tryouts in August.
Novice climbers SHOULD NOT select this camp option.
This camp is meant to be a full week of training for optimal climbing performance. Athletes attending this camp will be expected to climb and perform with intense physical and mental fortitude, through sore muscles and tender skin. Climbers must have had previous climbing instruction, be belay certified at ÜG and have a clear understanding of climbing technique.
Athletes MUST:

All participants must have a waiver on file that has been completed and signed by the athlete's parent or legal guardian prior to the start of camp. Athletes will learn how to lead climb and possible belay. All Bouldering, Top Rope and Lead Policy Agreements must be filled out.
2 snacks on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday. Lunch is not included. Please provide your athlete with healthy well balanced lunches to fuel them for a full day of training.
Outdoor climbing, guided by Denver Mountain Guides and TeamGrippen coaches on Wednesday, in one of the many accesible climbing areas here in the Front Range. Athletes must provide their own transportation to and from the location.
Camp runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
All camps take place at Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag located in South Central Park near the intersection of Montview and Central Park Ave at 8610 E. 21st Ave, Denver, CO 80238. Our camps will spend significant time both indoors and outdoors during the day! We will take advantage of our great outdoor spaces at our facility as well as explore some of the surrounding neighborhood and local outdoor climbing areas.
- Comfortable clothing that allows free movement
- Athletic shoes with socks (for our daily mile run and conditioning workouts)
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Personally owned climbing equipment (shoes, harness, chalk bag)
- Healthy, well balanced lunches to help fuel for a full day of training.

*We will not be responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen belongings. Please bring just what is needed!
Activities will include (but not limited to): Setting clinic, cardiovascular exercise, strength and conditioning, yoga, competition preparation, mental training, climbing technique & basic nutrition.
Wednesdays - Outdoor climbing in one of the neumerous nearby climbing areas : Athletes will meet at a designated outdoor climbing area for a day of outdoor climbing. Make sure to bring and lunch and snacks, extra water, sunscreen and protective clothing for a possible sunny and hot day or rain.

What’s Included:

- One day of outdoor climbing. The outdoor day does not include transportation, lunch or snacks. Carpooling is recommended.
*If an earlier drop off is needed for ages 13 and under, we will try to accommodate. Please email sarah@ugclimbing.com to arrange. An additional fee will be required for this additional service.
Rescheduling Policy: We always want to help make our summer camps a positive experience. If for any reason you find you cannot make a camp you book we are happy to try and help you reschedule for a different date. Rescheduling requests must be made a minimum of 21 days prior to the start of camp and are dependent on availability of another camp date within the same season. Rescheduling is always subject to availability and a $50 rescheduling fee.
Summer Camp Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations are subject to the following cancellation fee:
- Cancellations made more than 28 days prior to the start of camp: $75/participant
- Cancellations made 14-28 days prior to start of camp: $150/participant
- Cancellations made 14 days to 72 hour prior to start of camp: $250/participant
- Cancellations made less than 72 hour prior to start of camp: 100% of camp registration cost (sorry, no refunds can be provided for last minute cancellations)
The remaining balance after paying the cancellation fee will be refunded. Cancellations requests must be made by phone (720-592-0716) or email (camps@ugclimbing.com).
Termination Policy:
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate all campers, but if a child is not willing to participate with the group or is acting in a manner that is unsafe then we reserve the right to contact a parent and send the child home for either the remainder of the day or week without refund. Please review the conditions stated in the "Participant Requirements" tab, and included below, and make sure that your child is capable of abiding by these. We want this to be a positive experience for all of campers.

- Respect counselors/staff
- Being away from parents for a long day (8 hours). No separation anxiety please, we want this to be a very fun and positive place for all.
- Stay focused and attentive
- Be physically capable of doing the activities without needing constant 1:1 attention from staff (our ratios are planned to be 6 children:1 instructor).
Pickup and Drop Off Policy:
Kids will not be in our care prior to the start of camp (8:15am) or after the end of camp (3:45pm) unless the parent has elected the extended day option. Our extended day option is $20 for each 30 minutes of supervised care for a single fee for multiple kids up to a maximum of 4. Advance arrangements must be made for early drop off by contacting us directly at 720-592-0716 x1. Parents that pickup their child after 3:45pm will be assessed the extended day fee at the time of pickup.
