School's Out Camp (Full Week)

What's Included

All-Inclusive Camp

Your camp fee includes everything your child needs for a full day of climbing, activities, and fun:

• 🕘 Full-Day Camp: Camp runs from 9:00am–4:30pm, with drop-off beginning at 8:30am and pickup available until 5:00pm*.
• 🧗 Climbing Equipment & Instruction: We provide all required climbing equipment, including harnesses and belay devices.
  • Climbing shoes are not required.
  • Campers are welcome to bring their own shoes or add Shoe Rental for $25 for the entire week.
• 🍎 AM & PM Snacks
• 🥪 Full Lunch
• 😴 A Very Tired Kid: We can't guarantee it, but we'll do our best!

Need a Little More Time?

We know work schedules don't always line up perfectly with camp hours. For $20, you can extend your child's camp day by 30 minutes, allowing for:

• Early drop-off as early as 8:00am, or
• Late pickup as late as 5:30pm

Please arrange extended-day care at least one week before camp begins by calling 720-592-0716 x2 or emailing camps.cr@ugclimbing.com.

Important: Pickups after 5:00pm will automatically incur the $20 extended-day fee.

Who Is Summer Camp For?

Our summer camps are designed for kids ages 7–13. Campers are divided into smaller groups by age so activities and challenges can be tailored to each group.

We recommend age 7 as the minimum for full-day camps because campers need the independence and maturity to participate in a full day away from home.

Campers should be able to:

• Follow directions and rules
• Respect counselors, instructors, and other campers
• Spend a full day away from parents without significant separation anxiety
• Stay focused and attentive
• Participate without constant 1:1 assistance

Our camps maintain approximately a 6:1 camper-to-instructor ratio, so campers should be comfortable participating as part of a group.

Have a younger camper? We understand that every child develops differently. 6-year-olds who meet these expectations are welcome to attend. Please use your best judgment, and contact us at camps.cr@ugclimbing.com if you're unsure whether camp is a good fit.

Our goal is for every camper to have a positive and incredibly fun experience!

What to Bring

Come ready for a day of climbing, games, and adventure! Campers should wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows plenty of movement and athletic shoes with socks.  Each camper should also bring a small backpack containing:

• 👕 Clean change of clothes — Just in case!
• 💧 Water bottle — Staying hydrated is important during an active day.
• 👟 Closed-toed athletic shoes — Bring comfortable tennis or athletic shoes that your child can climb, run, and play in. No Crocs or open-toed shoes, please.
  • Climbing shoes are not required. Campers may bring their own or add Shoe Rental for $25/week.
• 🧗 Personal climbing gear, if they have it — Campers are welcome to bring their own climbing shoes, harness, or chalk bag.
  • We provide rental harnesses and belay devices for campers who need them.

Please clearly label everything with your child's name.

Outdoor Fun

Whenever weather and conditions allow, we’ll get outside for fresh air, games, and plenty of time to run and play! Since School’s Out Camp can take place during cooler months, please make sure your child is prepared for changing temperatures - but they DO NOT need snow gear. 

Please bring:

• 🧥 Sweatshirt or light jacket — Kids can cool down quickly after running and playing, even when they feel warm at first.
• 🧴 Sunscreen — Cool or cloudy days can still bring plenty of UV exposure.
  • Please apply sunscreen before camp and send some along for reapplication.
  • We do have spray sunscreen on hand if kids wish to reapply. 
• 🧢 Hat — A baseball cap or sun hat helps protect their face and eyes when we're outside.

Come prepared for the weather—we'll make the most of every chance to get outside!

Leave Valuables at Home

Please leave cell phones, electronic games, and other valuables at home. We want campers focused on climbing, playing, and having fun! We are not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen belongings.

Pack light and bring only what your camper needs for a great day at camp!

The Fine Print

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

Camp hours are 9:00am–4:30pm, with standard drop-off beginning at 8:30am and pickup available until 5:00pm.

Campers are not considered to be in our care outside these times unless the Extended Day Option has been arranged.

• Extended Day: $20 for each additional 30 minutes of supervised care.
• The fee covers multiple children from the same family, up to a maximum of four children.
• Early drop-off must be arranged in advance by contacting 720-592-0716 x2 or camps.cr@ugclimbing.com.
• Pickups after 5:00pm will automatically be charged the applicable $20 extended-day fee.

Belay Testing Before Camp

Campers who arrive before camp to take a belay test must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Campers may not be dropped off between 8:00–8:30 AM to take a belay test, as CampGrippen staff are not responsible for camper supervision prior to 8:30 AM. After completing the test, the camper must remain with their parent or guardian until they are officially checked into camp at 8:30 AM or later, unless early drop off has been purchased and arranged ahead of time.

Food & Dietary Needs

Because every child has different dietary needs and restrictions, we are unable to accommodate individual meal requests. If your child has specific dietary requirements, you are welcome to provide their lunch and/or snacks. We're happy to provide the planned weekly menu in advance so you can decide what works best for your child.

Rescheduling Policy

We know plans can change, and we're happy to help when we can. If your camper can no longer attend their scheduled camp, you may request to reschedule for a different camp date, subject to availability.

• Rescheduling fee: $50 per enrollment
• Rescheduling requests must be made by phone or email.
• Rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on space being available in another camp.

Camp Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are subject to the following fees based on how far in advance the cancellation is requested:

Any remaining balance after the cancellation fee will be refunded.

Camper Participation & Dismissal

We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate each camper and help them have a great experience. However, we reserve the right to contact a parent or guardian and send a camper home for the remainder of the day or week if their behavior is consistently unsafe or they are unable or unwilling to participate appropriately in the group.

Before registering, please make sure your child is able to:

• Follow directions and safety rules
• Respect counselors, instructors, and other campers
• Comfortably spend a full day away from parents or guardians
• Stay reasonably focused and attentive
• Participate safely without requiring constant 1:1 staff attention

Our camps operate at approximately a 6:1 camper-to-instructor ratio. Our goal is to create a safe, positive, and fun experience for every camper.

Waiver Required

All campers must have a completed and signed waiver on file before the start of camp. The waiver must be completed by the camper's parent or legal guardian.

All camps take place at Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag in Castle Rock:
